Meet The Author
Let me first congratulate you on taking the first step in starting your Independent Freight Dispatch Business. The transportation industry transports over $8 Billion dollars in freight each year. I Hope you are ready to join in and learn what it takes to be successful in this business. But first a little about me.
I am native of Miami, Florida and I currently live in Conyers Georgia with my 2 boys, boyfriend and dog Rusty. I received my Bachelors Degree in Management Information Systems from The Union University and my Masters Degree in Human Resource Management from Walden University.
As you can see, I did not go to school for trucking. My trucking experience started with the purchase of a vehicle, which was not the smartest move for me at the time. I had friends in the industry, and they said, “buy a truck” and it went downhill from there. With little to no education or mentorship, company # 1 failed.
From there my goal was to learn the industry, master, scale and duplicate what I learned so that I can help others. With years of experience & failures, I started Gold Star Logistics Group, LLC to help companies get into the industry and learn from my mistakes. From there I then started GSL Dispatch Group, LLC.
GSL Dispatch Group is a freight dispatch division of Gold Star Logistics Group, LLC. We provide expert load negotiations, dedicated 24/7 LTL dispatch consultant and an industry leading support team.
GSL Dispatch Group has 18 dispatchers which includes 3 Carrier Consultants and 4 leads that assist with load arrangements, while Gold Star Logistics Group, LLC focuses on training, trucking back office, DOT compliance and Drug Screen/ drug consortium. I am also the owner of Dependable Screening Solutions with my mom, Anna Whigham.
I am a member of the local Henry County Chamber, local Rockdale Chamber, Atlanta Black Chamber, ¼ the of Leading Ladies of Logistics as well as a Freight Agent with Landstar.
My goal in this industry and to help those in need so they don’t make the same mistakes I did.
Thank you for investing in yourself and trusting me with your next steps. I look forward to working with you.
Remember, YOU possess the qualities needed to be extremely successful.
